Canopy WalkExperience yourself on the longest suspension bridge in the world, 510M long and 45M above the ground level. This is a must activity in Taman Negara and one of the most memorable memories for you to bring home. Walk on the top of the forest; enjoy the flora and fauna along the canopy.

Rapid Shooting
One of the best activities in Taman Negara. It is an exhilarating ride that faces seven rapids along Tembeling River. Get ready for the wet and wild experience! On the way back, if you want to swim in crystal clear water, you may ask the boat to stop at one of the beautiful streams.
Cave Exploration
Home to various bats, racer snakes and many fascinating insects, exploring limestone caves such as Gua Telinga guarantees fun and excitement. For the more adventurous, opt for a longer trek and then spend a night in one of these caves - Kepayang Besar, Kepayang Kecil, Luas or Daun Menari.
Jungle Trekking
Jungle trekking along the most adventures trail about 1.7Km to Bukit Teresek. It takes about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to reach its peak. The 334M height hill is offering you a magnificent panoramic view of Gunung Tahan. See the fabulous forest canopies that cover the hills and valleys. Among other popular trail are Lubok Simpon (20-30 minutes), Gua Telinga (2hr 30min to 3hr), Bumbun Kumbang Hide(4hr) and Lata Berkoh (5hr) .
Night Jungle walk
Discover the side of the jungle which comes alive at night. Familiarize yourself with nocturnal plants and insects and savour a chance to spot animals up close at the Observation Hide.
Animals Observation
Spend nights hidden up in the trees while waiting for a tapir, bear or elephant to appear at observation hides. Most hides are built overlooking saltlicks, from which some animals obtain necessary minerals. Except for Bumbun Tahan, which is five minutes away, most require either a boat ride or a few hours walk to get to it.
Fishing
Fishing is one of the main attractions to Taman Negara. The fishing months are during the drier months in February to April or June to August. Most of the professional anglers, fishing in the deep of Taman Negara, and one of the most popular spots are Kuala Perkai. You need permits, which are issued at RM10 per rod.
Boat Cruise to Lata Berkoh
Cruise along Sungai Tahan to relish the riverside flora and fauna and dip into the refreshing cascades at Lata Berkoh which form a natural Jacuzzi. Along the way, stop by the Fish Sanctuary for a chance to snorkel amongst fresh water fishes.
Visiting Kg. Orang Asli
Orang Asli, the local natives, are gentle folk who lead a nomadic lifestyle in Taman Negara. They are called Batek and their settlements are found along the trails, some are accessible by boat. See how they making fire in a traditional way and try their hunting weapon - blow pipe.
Mount Tahan Climbing
The most adventurous activities - climbing Gunung Tahan, the highest peak in Peninsular Malaysia. This demands will power, physical fitness, good equipment and guide. The trail is 53km from Mutiara Taman Negara.
Four Step Water Fall Explorations
The eastern flanks of Gunung Tahan and Gunung Gedong drop off very sharply into the headwaters of Sungai Tahan. One of the tributaries in the Ulu Tahan plunges and cascades spectacularly down the mountainside in what is known as the Four Steps Waterfall.
Bird Watching
With about 380 bird species, the park arguably has the highest number of birds of any forest area in Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitats range from montane to lowland forests with most of the birds found in the lowland forest around the main bird watching areas of Kuala Tahan and Kuala Terenggan. During the fruit season, usually from May to August, many bird species can be found feeding on fig trees around the park headquarters. They include the Thick-billed Pigeon, Rhinoceros Hornbills, Blue-eared Barbet, Asian Fairy bluebird, Blue-winged Leafbirds, Green Boardbill and the Yellow-vented Flowerpecker. The six species of pheasants are found here include the Crested and Crestless Fireback Pheasants, Malaysian Peacock as well as the Crested Argus Pheasants.
The months of June and July are ideal to search for majestic Great Argus Pheasant along the trail to Teresek Hill. As you drift down the pristine Tahan River, you might spot the much sought after Masked Finfoot, one of the only three species found in the world or the Stork-billed, Blue-banded, Blue-eared and Rufous-collared Kingfishers that might also be found along the river trails to the Lata Berkoh cascades. Taman Negara is a treasure trove for hornbills and nine species can be found around the Kuala Tahan and Kuala Terenggan areas.
Most areas around the park headquarters in Kuala Tahan are generally good for bird watching. The other trails are the riverside trail to Tabing Hide, the trail to the canopy walkway, the Bukit Teresek trail and the trail to Kumbang hide at Kuala Terenggan. If you plan take on a long trail, it is advisable to hire a local guide to accompany you.
